Hammond-Henry Hospital Foundation and Long Term Care host quilt raffle

December 6, 2024

Hammond-Henry Hospital Long Term Care Living Center (LTC) residents have been busy crafting a special project for Christmas. Toward the end of the summer, LTC Activities Staff began working alongside the residents as they created a Christmas quilt. For some of our residents, this was a chance to try something new, and others proudly mastered a rusty skill. Together, they worked to line up the fabric squares a few different ways. They meticulously chose which fabrics went into each block and carefully lined up the rows to be sewn. Our residents are very proud of the hard work they put into this quilt. Other than pushing the foot pedal on the sewing machine, this quilt was completed by them. From the design decisions to the final touches, the residents collaborated with Activities Staff to create this sparkling winter wonderland quilt.

The residents are very proud of their finished product and have chosen to raffle this off in order to help fund our activities special projects, much like this one. A special thanks to Janette Dwyer and LaNae Rayburn for the finishing touches. The quilt can be seen in the Long Term Care entryway at Hammond-Henry Hospital during business hours.
