Minimum starting wage: $34.60

Description:  A staff nurse is a registered nurse who is responsible for nursing and supportive care to all patients that come to the emergency department. Must be a confident leader who can accept the challenge and high degree of responsibility entailed in the position. The nurse must have excellent judgment and be able to prioritize decisions and act quickly in the best interest of the patient, must be self disciplined, able to develop patient rapport, interview hostile patients, and recognize and utilize communication unique to diverse multicultural groups and ages within those groups. Must be able to function independently at an optimum level in an environment that can change in a moments notice.
 
Notes:  48 hours per pay period. 
 
Qualifications:  Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Current license in the State of Illinois. Required: ACLS, PALS, Emergency Communications Registered Nurse (ECRN), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) are required within one year from start of employment. (Subject to availability of class instruction.) Prior emergency room experience preferred.
