Job Description

In accordance with applicable law and practice standards issued by the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) and requirements of the National Board of Certification and recertification of Nurse Anesthetist (NBCRNA), the CRNA will provide professional anesthesia on-site in accordance with the scope of licensure. Administers general or regional anesthetics to surgical patients. Observes condition of anesthetized patients and takes necessary remedial measures to counteract unfavorable conditions. Maintains appropriate knowledge to serve all ages of patients. Access to information is limited to minimum necessary to perform the duties of the job. Medical Director of Surgical Services provides anesthesia oversight.

Qualifications

    • Valid licensure by the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation as a Registered Nurse in good standing
    • Valid licensure by the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulations as an Advance Practice Nurse in good standing
    • Current Board Certification by American Association of Nurse Anesthetists preferred
    • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
