da Vinci Xi Robot Assisted Surgery - General Procedures
Enhancing surgery with robotic precision
A minimally invasive surgical option, da Vinci Xi technology enables your surgeon to operate through a few small incisions (cuts), like traditional laparoscopy, instead of a large open incision. The da Vinci Xi System is a robotic-assisted surgical device that your surgeon is 100% in control of at all times.
The da Vinci Xi System gives surgeons:
- A 3D HD view inside the body
- Special wristed instruments that bend and rotate far greater than the human hand
3D Vision:
Three-dimensional, enhanced high-definition vision, with up to 10x magnification, offers surgeons an immersive view of the operative field unlike any other surgical approach, including traditional open surgery and laparoscopy. A special firefly fluorescence imaging vision system enables the surgeon to use a special video camera and glowing dye to view blood flow in vessels, and tissue or bile moving through ducts during minimally invasive surgical procedures. When a surgeon uses the firefly camera, healthy structures appear green, but those with low or no blood flow appear gray. This enhanced visual capability adds to the positive outcomes that have been seen utilizing the da Vinci Xi Surgical System.
Wristed Instruments for Precision and Control:
From a console in the operating room, the surgeon controls the da Vinci Xi System, which translates his or her hand movements into smaller, precise movements of tiny instruments inside the body. The da Vinci Xi instruments are designed to provide surgeons with natural dexterity and a range of motion far greater than the human hand. The da Vinci Xi also maintains a corresponding eye-hand-instrument tip alignment allowing for intuitive instrument control.
